Berryville, Virginia May 31, 1863

Mr. Josiah W. Ware and son are hereby permitted to cross the Shenandoah river at any of its fords or ferries with a number of mares which he designs putting to the horse, any day between the 1st and 10th of June proximo. They will be permitted to pass and return to their home in Clarke County Virginia without molestation by any of the forces of the United States.
